AYL TIMEKEEPER DUTIES
All games are 12 minute quarters, RUNNING TIME.
Time & score keepers must behave in a “neutral” manner and may not cheer or direct players.
On-field official will generally keep game time. Parent timekeepers are responsible only for keeping accurate score and keeping penalty times.
Penalties (time & nature) will be stated by official.
PENALTY clock stops for ALL whistles!
10v10: Penalties enforced by man-down.
· Technical fouls 30 seconds.
· Personal fouls 1-3 minutes. May be “non-releasable”, which means that player must serve penalty full-time even if the offended team scores.
· ALL players in box “release” if the man-up team scores—UNLESS penalty was “non-releasable.”
· When there are 10 seconds remaining in the penalty, begin countdown “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… release.” Player may then depart penalty box and return to field.
7v7: Maximum one player per team in the penalty box
AYL Rules: Quarter breaks are 2 minutes. Halftime is 5 minutes.
Overtime: One 4 minute sudden victory overtime periods— 1 timeout in OT.
Each team is allowed 3 timeouts per game, no more than 2 timeouts per half.
NO PARENTS ALLOWED ON TEAM SIDELINES UNLESS SERVING AS TIME/SCORE KEEPERS.
ALL SUBSTITUTIONS ARE “ON THE FLY”. No “horns” in AYL.
7v7: Official may stop time (every 3-4 minutes) for player substitutions
GAME clock stops ONLY for:
· Team Timeout (Max 2 per half, per team)
· Officials Timeout
· Injury Timeout
· All whistles under 2 MINUTES OF GAME with 2 goal or less differential
