Boulder Select

Boulder Lacrosse organizes top-level spring teams at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels known as "Boulder Select." These teams will play in the appropriate competitive divisions of the Arapahoe Youth Lacrosse league. Tryouts for Boulder Select teams are held annually in late October, to determine rosters for the subsequent spring season. These teams will be led by coaches with significant coaching and playing experience.

The Select team is considered the top team at its grade level, but we anticipate fielding multiple teams at each grade level for the spring season. Players are not required to participate in Select tryouts in order to be placed on a spring team- simply register a player for our Spring League after registration opens on January 1st, and he will be placed on the appropriate team for his grade and experience level.

Tryouts for our Boulder Select spring 2027 teams will be held on Sunday October 18th, 2026.

6th grade: 9:00am-11:00am

7th grade: 11:15am-1:00pm

8th grade: 1:15pm-3:00pm

Advanced boys players in grades 6-8

Select early season practices will begin the week of March 1st. Select teams may participate in the preseason King of the Rock tournament in Castle Rock, on Sunday March 7th.

The regular season practice schedule for Select teams will begin the week of March 22nd, after Daylight Savings kicks in.

Select teams will practice 3 weeknights per week at Manhattan Middle School or East Boulder Community Park.

Select teams will play games on Saturdays and some Sundays in March, April and May. Teams will play home games at East Boulder Community Park turf fields. Away game locations will include Arvada, Broomfield, Denver, Evergreen, Fort Collins, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Parker, and Windsor, and other locations around the state.

Game schedule will be released by AYL (Arapahoe Youth Lacrosse) in early March, and emailed to parents at that time.

Playoff games will be held the weekend of May 8th- 9th. AYL divisional championships will be held the weekend of May 15th-16th, and will conclude the spring season.

6th grade coaches will include Christian Cook and Bob Schneider.

7th grade coaches will include Tony Beranek and Brad Ainslie.

8th grade coaches will include Mitch Rosenbaum and Eric Henderson.

Select team fee is $785, this includes new Boulder Lacrosse uniform (game jersey, shorts, and shooter shirt).

Registration fee covers preseason tournament fee, field rental expenses including priority access to turf fields, lacrosse supplies, league fees, officials charges, coaching and educational expenditures, coach background checks, and administrative costs.

All players must have current US Lacrosse membership, valid through May 17th, 2027. Renewal or new membership cost is $35. Membership is a requirement of our insurance provider.
